New Addition - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
July 26th, 2007
The Major League Lacrosse (MLL) database is the newest addition to Stadium Hunt. Founded by Jake Steinfe
ld (yes, that Jake Steinfeld), Dave Morrow and Tim Robertson in 1999, the league’s first season began in June 2001. The MLL is made up of ten teams divided in to two conferences (Eastern and Western).
Notable fields include:
Harvard Stadium (Boston Cannons)
INVESCO Field (Denver Outlaws)
Harbin Field (Washington Bayhawks)
The MLL plans to add two more teams in 2008 to two of the following cites: Columbus, Cincinnati, Dallas, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, and St. Louis. In recent years, lacrosse has rapidly grown so it will be interesting to see how successful the MLL turns out to be.

International Golf includes courses from Ireland, England Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and numerous other countries around the world. Notable courses include:
Royal County Down

International Soccer includes fields primarily located in Europe. Soccer fields of note include:
White Hart Lane
City of Manchester Stadium
Amsterdam Arena
De Kuip
Some smaller database additions should be appearing in the near future so stay tuned.
New Sport: PGA
July 13th, 2007
The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) is the latest addition to StadiumHunt’s growing array of pro leagues and their respective venues. The PGA is headquartered in sunny Palm Beach Gardens, FL and claims to be the largest working sports organization in the world with more than 28,000 members.
The PGA Tour is a separate entity and is apparently where all the action is. It operates PGA Tour, Champions Tour, and Nationwide Tour which are played mostly in the United States, with occasional events in Canada and Mexico, and one major championship in the United Kingdom in each of the first two listed.
Currently, you can catch the John Deere Classic on CBS for the next two days or go straight to the action with a trip to TPC at Deere Run in Silvis, IL.
New Feature: “The Blue Arrows of Truth”
July 8th, 2007
The latest in a long series of changes to the site is rather subtle but worth mentioning. Located beneath each stadium map, you will find the same information, but it will be lying in its most contracted and unobtrusive state. Simply rollover the downward facing blue arrows (otherwise known as “The Blue Arrows of Truth”) to toggle the section up or down depending on its current state.
What’s on the SH drawing board, you ask? The next site-specific update will (a) be within the next 72 hours and (b) involve a staggering amount of international locations. How’s that for a teaser?
New Feature: Comments
June 20th, 2007
Just when you thought the new features had ground to a halt, we are introducing a powerful addition to the interface here at StadiumHunt. Starting today, users have the ability to create an account which gives them access to the new comment section of the stadiums. The comment section allows every registered user the opportunity to provide extra insight on a stadium such as unique transit information, secret parking spots … you get the idea. Please try to keep the conversations helpful, insightful or interesting/funny (if nothing else) and remember that each post will be moderated.
The SH Development team is currently working on extending this feature to allow for stadium ratings and much more. With that in mind, make sure you create an account today and check back soon!
New Sport: NASCAR
June 5th, 2007
A mere six days after unveiling the MLS stadiums, we are ready to unleash the NASCAR tracks upon all of you. Otherwise known as the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR is the largest sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States. The three largest racing series sanctioned by NASCAR are the NEXTEL Cup, the Busch Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. NASCAR has grown to become the second most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the U.S., ranking behind only the NFL.
Not being a big fan of NASCAR, I had no idea that Indianapolis Speedway maintained its own golf course comprised of 14 holes outside the track and 4 more on the infield. See for yourself here. The series of (parking?) roads surrounding Texas Speedway also look pretty cool. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future!
New Feature: AJAX Search Maps
June 2nd, 2007
The development team at StadiumHunt has listened to the users and responded in a big way. Starting today, SH will be featuring shiny new maps generated by the collective power of the Google AJAX Search API and obviously the Google Maps API. Honestly, I’m not quite sure how SH has grown to what it is today without having the ability to view shops/services surrounding the stadiums. Then again, I’ll probably be saying the same thing after the next feature is rolled out.
Anyway, to use the new “nearby points of interest” feature, simply click one the labels such as “Restaurants” or “Hotels” and watch in awe as the requested points manifest themselves on the map. If you lose track of the stadium, simply click the “x” button located directly under the left-hand side of the search box and you’ll be right back where you started.
After testing a few stadiums, I’ve found that the resulting array of nearby locations changes depending on whether the search term is plural or not - i.e. “hotel” versus “hotels.” So make sure to keep that in mind as you are using the new search feature. As always, if you have a suggestions for a nearby location to add to the quick list, please leave a comment below or email us at suggestions@stadiumhunt.com. Enjoy!
